The Harmony Family systems are designed to be freestanding, portable units that require minimal site preparation. Each system uses a standard wall outlet and transports easily from room to room.

Shipping and installation requirements

Harmony Family systems can be shipped anywhere. It needs no special receiving facilities, as it is small enough to fit on any elevator. No special equipment is needed to move the unit.

  • It uses any standard wall outlet
  • Space should be allocated with adequate ventilation and free air flow
  • The system should be connected to a dedicated circuit
  • Room temperature should ideally be between 20 and 25°C, with a relative humidity less than 80%.

Alma’s award-winning ClearLift Q-switched Nd:YAG treatment solution is used by leading clinics around the world, achieving excellent, reproducible and cost-effective results.

While most laser procedures for age-related skin imperfections produce a thermal effect to stimulate collagen renewal, Harmony XL uses a specially designed fractional Q-Switched laser to achieve a deep mechanical effect, focusing the energy beneath the epidermis. This creates a controlled dermal wound while leaving the epidermis intact. The wound healing process stimulates growth of new collagen as well as contracture and tightening of the tissue.

The high powered Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser is also effective for treating various degrees and depths of pigmented lesions. The Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064nm laser treats deeper lesions, while the KTP adaptor doubles the laser frequency to 532nm, addressing superficial lesions. The mechanical Q-Switched effect breaks up the melanin in pigmented lesions without damaging the epidermis. As the area heals, the immune system flushes away the damaged pigmented cells and reveals lighter, unblemished skin.

The same principle is used for the treatment of multi-colored tattoos, where the Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064nm laser effectively treats darker ink colors (black, blue and green), while the 532 nm wavelength is suited for brighter ink colors (red, orange and yellow).

Unlike traditional ablative laser resurfacing which removes the entire top layer of the skin, iPixel Er:YAG employs a fractional delivery method which creates pixel-sized perforations in the skin, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This allows the skin to heal faster as the epidermis is regenerated. Either a 7×7 or 9×9 ablation pattern may be used, depending on the density and power needed for treatment.

 

The iPixel Scan speeds up treatment time by reducing the ablation pattern to 1×7. This 7 pixel configuration allows for deeper penetration and higher powered ablation, yielding enhanced results.

Additionally, 1064nm infrared light is more readily absorbed by oxy-hemoglobin with relatively low absorption by melanin, triggering photothermolysis of the hemoglobin chromophore while avoiding damage to the epidermis.
The applicator features a unique open-angle view with an aiming beam which vastly improves visualization of blood vessels underneath the skin. The high power NIR lamp emits near infrared light to elevate dermal temperature, with peak power at 1300nm for deep penetration. Rather than delivering a pulse with multiple wavelengths, many of which are outside the therapeutic range, AFT converts unused UV light to the optimal spectrum for more effective treatment. SHR works by gradually heating the dermis to a temperature that effectively damages the hair follicles and prevents re-growth, while avoiding injury to the surrounding tissue. The sweeping In-MotionTM technique used with SHR involves moving the applicator repeatedly over the treatment area, applying energy over a large grid- not just the area of the hair follicle. This ensures full coverage during treatment which significantly improves results.

Contact Cooling
